Blog Post #10 – Follow the River

To Landscape Gallery and Blog #10

We live in a collapsed volcano, the Long Valley Caldara. (20 miles x 11 miles, 3000′ deep). The Caldara was formed 760,000 years ago.  You are looking at a portion of the Owens River which passes through the Caldara. We visited this area in the late afternoon when the light and wispy clouds enhanced the scene.  The Owens River leads one into the expansive Caldara – the views are quite impressive!
