Blog #26: Costa Rican Native

Blog #26 Photo

This past summer our family visited Costa Rica for the first time. We found out that June wasn’t the ideal time to go. Temperature, rain and humidity took their toll on several family members. We were able for the most part to get past the weather and enjoy the abundant flowers, birds and wildlife we encountered in our travels. This macaw paused for a moment to allow me to take a close-up photo with the help of a zoom lens on my camera. The brilliant green, mute orange and red of his feathers and face are even more spectacular at close range. The condition of his beak shows how essential this appendage must be to survival. I would visit Costa Rica again in an instant but maybe in December.
